The Manual v1.0

Welcome to a new storytelling format for the age of AI. This is Loreform by Multilarity, Drop 01. Inside are 12 “Loreforms,” each a portable micro‑IP built using my worldbuilding Framework

This Manual will guide you in the foundational elements of each Loreform, so you can then remix  it into your own creation. It will focus on how to create with the Loreforms using AI tools, but that does not mean your creativity is limited to just these tools. Each one is also perfectly suited to being the spark for character sketches, short films, and more—no AI tools necessary. If you haven’t already, read our Vision for the Loreform.

This Manual will cover the following:

  • Loreform Elements Overview
  • Principles for Success
  • Creating Visuals in Midjourney (sref Guide)
  • Creating Visuals in Other AI Tools
  • LLM Worldbuilding

Thanks for purchasing, we look forward to the Lorebuilding you’ll create.

Loreform Elements Overview

Each Loreforms contains two categories of elements:

Visual DNA:

  • Style References (sref): Midjourney codes for maintaining visual consistency. There are over 4 billion codes in Midjourney v7. I’ve curated through over a thousand codes to select the right one for each Loreform. All Loreforms use one primary sref code except The Polychrome District, which uses a seven sref code blend. Ensure you are using Midjourney v7.
  • ALT Style References: Five of the Loreforms have alternative style references, giving you the option to experiment with different aesthetics in the world. The Velvet Lounge has two, The Luminous Mind has seven, Xenowire has five, Household Accords has one, and The Quad Dominion has one. You can also try your own sref codes with Loreform elements and prompt atoms.
  • Prompt Guide: This explains additional instructions for making images, such as using style weighting (--sw) or one of my four custom personalizations codes. The style weighting system is essentially a value that determines how much of the style is translated into the final image, using a value of 1 to 1000. Personalization codes are created by ranking images in the Midjourney platform, which creates your own unique aesthetic based off what it learns about your taste. The four codes used in Drop 01 are: Overall code (my main personal code): --p okz8wvj, SFF (a code based off sci-fi & fantasy images I liked) --p 3aqafa9, Illustration --p d8ar1zk, and Photo --p eg1dl45.
  • Prompt Atoms: Keywords to use in the crafting of image prompts for each Loreform.

Narrative & Worldbuilding DNA

  • Loreform Hooks: 1,200+ (multiple with 2,000+) words that are the foundation of storytelling and worldbuilding in each Loreform. It includes the description overview, world elements, locations, factions, characters, and story starters. Together, these create a sum greater than the parts, a world that should feel-lived in, with its own narrative potential for any type of media format. Each individual piece can be the beginning of a story or be combined to create bigger conflicts, ideas, and projects.
  • Big Questions: Not homework, but questions to provoke thinking related to the theme, philosophical ideas, and emotional beats in each Loreform.
  • Cultural References: Stories and media in the same latent space as the Loreform. Use as inspiration and add to your read/watch list.

With these two categories, the goal is for you to be able to create whatever you desire with any of the Loreforms.

Principles for Success

Modular & Remixable: Treat each Loreform as a your very own world engine. While the Loreform DNA is meant to save you time and foster quality content, you can and should choose to change whatever you wish to. Make The Velvet Lounge a futuristic cyberpunk den. Turn The Polychrome District into a dream in one person’s mind. Change a character’s name. Combine pieces from different Loreforms together. The foundation is here to do with as you please: remix, redesign, redeploy as you see fit.

Interoperable: While the Loreforms were built using Midjourney and most seamlessly used there, each Lore can be used in other tools as well. With the Asset Archive images, Loreform write-ups, and prompt atoms, you can approximate the style or a remix of it in other tools if Midjourney is not your tool of choice.

Philosophical: Big philosophical ideas are at the heart of each Loreform. This gives each world narrative weight, with ideas that can be leveraged in your creations to get your audience thinking. The antidote to slop is depth of ideas, emotions, and themes in our stories.

Creating Visuals in Midjourney

  1. Go to the Loreform of your choice.
  2. Read the Prompt Guide on the page.
  3. Create a prompt, pulling from the Prompt Atoms, write-ups, or your own imagination. You can also use Midjourney’s describe tool by dragging one of the images in the Asset Archive into the imagine bar’s “Drop image to describe” section to give you a written description of the image, which you can now use to inspire more prompts. Additionally, you can copy and paste all of the Loreform text & sample images into a tool like ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini and ask it to give you new prompts.
  4. Copy the sref code.
  5. Paste the prompt and code into Midjourney, i.e. Red spaceship flying to the moon --sref CODE
  6. Add style weighting, i.e. --sw 50. Some Loreforms have style weighting built into the final visual DNA. Others allow for experimentation (see Prompt Guide)
  7. Add a personalization code. Use yours or one of the four custom ones provided.
  8. Final prompt may look something like “Red spaceship flying to the moon --sref CODE --sw 50 --p CODE”
  9. Review images, upscale or retry as needed

Midjourney has many parameters that can be combined with the above formula to get unique results. Try some of the following:

  • Chaos: Adds variation between each of the four images generated. Use to see different interpretations of the prompt. Values from 1 - 100. Very high values may steer away from the aesthetic.
  • Weird:  Self-explanatory but super fun. Values from 0 - 3000. Very high values may steer away from the aesthetic.
  • Exp: Adds detail to images. Try it with things like cities and landscapes, as it will “zooms the camera out” to show a larger scale.
  • Blending: You can use as many sref codes as you want together. Combine a Loreform‘s code with another sref code you like.
  • Style Creator: A new Midjourney tool that allows you to create your own style, similar to an sref/p code, by selecting images you like. Combine styles you like with sref codes.

Creating Visuals in Other AI Tools

While Midjourney is the most natural and seamless way to make images with a Loreform, other AI tools can make approximations of the visual style. The following are guides on how to leverage a few of these tools to do so.

Training Your Own Model
Many AI tools today allow you to upload images into a training set, which will then be used to create a custom model based on that visual style. Take the Asset Archive and download the images for the Loreform you wish to use. Upload these to the tool of your choice and begin training a model. Once complete, prompt different scenes using Prompt Atoms and other Loreform elements.

Tool Spotlight: Krea

A powerful program with many AI features, including custom training. You can select the underlying image model and set advanced settings. Experimentation is key, but some tips to get you started:

  • Model: Flux & Krea are the two models I’ve had the most success with so far.
  • Model Weight: Drag the slider on the reference image (see below) when prompting to get the right mix of prompt adherence and style.

Simple Image References
Upload one or more images from the Asset Archive to the tool of your choice with a prompt to make a new image in that style. Use Prompt Atoms or Loreform elements as part of your prompt.

Tool Spotlight: Nano Banana Pro & ChatGPT

Depending on the Loreform, these two programs can get decently close to the style after uploading a few images. Experiment with different prompts and workflows:

  • Simple Prompt: Upload a few images and tell the tool to “Create an image of (your scene) using the exact style/aesthetic in the uploaded images.”
  • Detailed Prompt: Do the above, but also include prompt atoms and aesthetic descriptions, i.e. “Alien creature slab with neon green accents on black background” for Xenowire.

Due to the conversational nature of the app, you can ask for follow-ups in the style as needed. X is filled with many great examples and tips for using Nano Banana in clever ways. Just search “Nano Banana.”

Making Videos
Creating videos with the Loreforms is simple. Choose your video model of choice. I like using Krea, which allows access to others like Google Veo, Seedream, Kling, etc.

  1. Upload image into tool
  2. If no prompt required, click go
  3. If prompt required and you don’t want to direct, type something like “natural movement”
  4. Or add prompt. Use actions, camera movements, etc.
  5. String clips together to create full conceptual videos and stories.

LLM Worldbuilding

Expanding the Loreform
In your LLM of choice (ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini), copy and paste the full Loreform information and hooks, with a prompt of this variation:

“You are expanding a world called [Loreform Title]. Below is the Loreform’s canon, including its overview, world elements, locations, characters, etc. Your primary goal is to help brainstorm new elements and stories in this world. You must maintain the established tone, themes, and rules of this world. You are my creative partner and a world-class expert in speculative fiction and worldbuilding. Uploaded are images from this world for reference.

My task for you is: [Specific Request, i.e. a new location that fits this world, three historical artifacts in the world with cultural significance, a new faction with complex motivations, environmental phenomena unique to this realm, etc.]”

Here is the complete world documentation: [Paste Loreform Text]”

Writing a Story
Use this prompt to write a story in the Loreform:

“You are writing in a world called [Loreform Title]. Below is the Loreform’s canon, including its overview, world elements, locations, characters, etc. Your primary goal is to generate creative writing and stories in this world. You must maintain the established tone, themes, and rules of this world. You are my creative partner and a world-class expert in speculative fiction and worldbuilding. Uploaded are images from this world for reference.

My task for you is: Write a 800‑word scene in [Loreform] where [Character] confronts [Conflict/Enemy/Environment]. Make the writing engaging, using the world’s existing writing style as reference. Utilize writing techniques to make the text engaging, such as inner character conflict, hard moral choices, surprising twists that are logical, etc.

Here is the complete world documentation: [Paste Loreform Text]”

Choose Your Own Adventure:

Use this prompt to create an interactive narrative experience:

"You are creating an interactive story in [Loreform Title]. Below is the complete world canon. Your goal is to write a choice-driven narrative where the reader's decisions shape the outcome. Maintain the world's established tone, themes, and rules. You will go back and forth with the user, generating new responses based off their choices.

Structure:
- Begin with a compelling scenario that drops the reader into the world
- Present 2-3 meaningful choices at each decision point, but allow the user to write their own choice as well
- Each choice should have real consequences that affect the story
- Track key decisions and reference them in later scenes
- Create 3-5 distinct endings based on accumulated choices

Writing style: Use second-person present tense ("You stand before..."). Keep each segment 200-300 words. Make choices matter—no obviously "correct" path.

My task for you is: Create a choose-your-own-adventure story where the reader [specific scenario, e.g., "must navigate The Velvet Lounge's neural offerings while maintaining their sanity" or "decides whether to join the Luminiferous Choir"].

Beyon Drop 01: Future Guides on Lorebuilding

The ultimate goal of Loreform by Multilarity isn't just to have you play in my sandboxes, it's to help you build your own.

The 12 Lores in this drop were built using a specific methodology, taking over five months to create. It involves a combination of worldbuilding theory, idea anchoring, and aesthetic curation. Future content will include guides to creating your own Loreforn and deep dives into “anti-slop” worldbuilding frameworks. If you want to move from "Prompt Engineer" to "World Architect," stay tuned.

Thank you for joining me at the beginning of something new. If you create something with these Lores, or use this framework to build your own, tag @Multilarity. Your work might just influence what comes next.
